Functional advantages
With SLS it is possible to create 3D printed parts with directly integrated functionality. Plastic parts being manufactured in a SLS 3D printer can be lightweight, cost-efficient and customer-specific. These features make them ideal for the use in prototyping or even robotic parts and gripping systems
High Mixed and low volume production
Selective laser sintering offers a cost-efficient alternative for the small and medium series production of 3D printed plastic parts. That could be for example plastic housings or spare parts made in an SLS 3D printer. The 3D printer does not need any tools and can produce the parts in the exact quantity required, without a minimum purchase volume.
High performance components
SLS can produce high-performance molded parts in industrial contexts, e.g. gearwheels and impellers in pumps and high-pressure systems. Biocompatible material to manufacture sterilizable medical devices or patient-specific implants are also an option.
Mass production
Selective laser sintering for serial production is possible and quite common. It's a valuable production method for different applications and products.
